The motorcycling community will still vote against mandatory helmet laws. Given the opportunity, the textile industry would vote out the restrictions on flammability of linens, upholstery and carpet fibers. We know how the homebuilding industry has "voted" on Class A roofing, fire sprinklers and fire resistive construction. The worm has turned a bit Todd - let's just enjoy one of the very few opportunities that we will ever have to influence public opinion, even if it is technically something of a manipulation.
