I had this come up on a project recently and here is the response I got
from Clarke.

All Diesel Fire Pump Drivers manufactured by Clarke are for use with #2
Diesel Fuel
(ASTM D-975, No. 2-D). This includes FM Approved, UL Listed, engines for
specific
country codes, and non-Listed engines. Note, in European Countries the
alternative
acceptable fuel is “Red” Diesel Fuel (BS2869, Class A2).

Although the engines are mechanically compatible with DF #1 or JP #8
(Jet-A) fuels, the
use of such fuels will cause a reduction in the performance of the engine
as great as 10 %,
and is not in accordance with the FM Approval and UL Listing on the
engine.

Additionally, the engines are mechanically compatible with the above fuels
containing up
to 5% BioDiesel blend, the use of such fuels will cause a reduction up to
2% in the
performance of the engine dependent upon the blend, and is not in
accordance with the
FM Approval and UL Listing on the engine. BioDiesel blend fuels will
require fuel filter
maintenance more often and the storage life of the fuel is much less do to
microbial
growth. The effectiveness of using conventional anti-microbial additives
in BioDiesel is
unknown. The presence of microbes may cause operational problems, fuel
system
corrosion, premature filter plugging, and sediment build-up in fuel
systems.

You're going to need to contact the specific driver's manufacturer.

Subject: Bio-diesel in pump drivers

All:

Anyone have any idea whether or not diesel pump engines are tolerant of
the three families (some would say four) of diesel fuel without issues?
I was asked whether it would be a problem to run a typical pump on
biodiesel, low sulfur or ultra-low sulfur diesel and haven't heard this
talked about like, at all.
