I'll challenge this occupancy as mercantile. The trade or merchant in
the mercantile definition is correct. Outside of a couple of shelves
with water-based hair products, there is little product so I would
say the merchant definition (specifically buying or selling of goods)
is at best marginally applicable. Definition 1 of trade; skilled
occupation. Definition number 2; the business of buying or selling
commodities; commerce. Which definition of trade is applicable to the
definition of mercantile? If definition 1 is accepted, then would
professional offices (doctors, accountants, engineers, attorneys, etc
- which could all classify and skilled occupations) fall under OH2 as
well? In terms of a combustible loading, I would think that a beauty
salon (not including storage closets) would be roughly the same as
hospitals, nursing homes, etc.
