Forest,

It may seem expensive, but a little bit goes a long way. If you are doing a
freezer or refrigerated warehouse, it is well worth it. We have used it with
no issues and we stuck with the Tyco stuff.

Forest wote:

This question pertains to the Tyco Grooved Coupling Gaskets listed for use
with dry systems.
The literature requires the use of a silicon Sealant, Dow Corning #6. To buy
a 5 oz tube is $55.
This seems extremely high to me.
For those contractors that use these couplings, do you buy the lubricant? If
so, from Tyco or a Dow Corning alternative?

Thanks

Forest Wilson
