During an inspection, my tech found the FDC was full of water and was broken at the top. The FDC is a 90° Siamese double clapper rising out of the ground. We are assuming the check valve is leaking. The check valve is a Cla-Val # 581. Is this valve repairable or should it be replaced? The building is only 4 years old. What is the normal life of a valve like this?
