I use OH in residential basements, all steel and up through the floor, then transition to plastic above the floor. Tom
I have a 4-family 13R (07ed) building with unfinished basements. Please confirm if my logic is on tract for sprinklering these areas. For most AHJ's here, basements are not considered part of the dwelling unit so they fall under section 6.8.2 - outside dwelling unit. Only the design discharge and design area criteria from 13 apply so I can sprinkler this area as LH with 225sf spacing no matter the type of construction. IE: I don't have to reduce the head spacing to 130sf because of the TJI's 16" O.C. Sound ok?
