Terri,
Long time since we have talked. Just wanted to add one more aspect to
anti-freeze systems.

I would be cautious as to the use of what NFPA 13 calls "e factors" in Table
A.22.4.4.5.1.
These do not necessarily equate to an HW C factor. This only happens at
certain flows. On top of that, NFPA 13 has you using the old '40s Moody Diagram
to find the Friction Factor. Here in the 21st Century, it can be calculated
directly.

So if I understand we have the same problem covered by 3 standards and at this
point the 3 committees voted for different solutions. Great

Technically there are not yet any TIA's. There are only several TIA's
in being processed. There are two on 13D: one saying a ban (call it a
moratorium) and the other allowing a 50% concentration by volume.
There are the same two on 13R. NFPA 13 initial saw only an initial
TIA on 50% but a second was submitted immediately thereafter but the
due date lagged the first a tad. KEEP IN MIND THAT NFPA 13 IS ONLY ON
RESIDUAL UNITS The initial outcome was:

13D: passed a moratorium and rejected the 50%
13R: rejected both
13: passed a 50%.

The outcome of the recirculation ballot will be known early next week
as well as coordination with the second TIA on 13.

THEN the TIA's will be reviewed by the NFPA Standards Council at the
Aug (3rd to the 5th) meeting to determine what will be issued as an
official TIA.
