To my knowledge there isn't a code or standards based restriction on using this tube for a dry standpipe - I'm assuming the FDC? We have done it on a few projects and haven't heard of any problems in the field. The one thing to remember is that water pressure causes the gasket seals to swell in the bell ends, so if there's a problem with dry pipe application it likely would be found there. The thrust restraints, bury depths, etc. should all be undertaken for the maximum anticipated pressure, i.e. whatever the FD tells you they're going to pump.

Am I missing it somewhere ? -- Best regards, Charles Thurston mailto:[email protected] Coastal Fire Protection/ Myrtle Beach Fire & Safety Group.
