The only voltage mentioned was 440 Vac. Thet's high to sprrinkler techs and fire alarm techs.

NEC says over 600 V is high voltage, but the typical bus bar in industry is only 480 volts. Not high voltage. And they are usually not open to the world. Usually some kind of enclosure. If open, then that could be a bigger hazard to personnel. If really high voltage and uninsulated then several feet of clearance would be needed. We have all seen the videos of the guy in his back yard and the ladder that comes close to the overhead line. The arc starts forming well before the ladder contacts the line. Is that what you are referring to? I can't find it. There is one in 12 ( co2 systems) but not eaxctly the same thing. I have a partner asking if there is a minimum distance. any thoughts out there? C. Reza 1. Why does IBM use sprinklers (with water) in all its factories and units ? 2.Data can be recovered from hard drives which have been wetted by sprinklers or fire hoses - this is not true of powders 3. Clean up of powder even when there has been no fire is very expensive as the powder is hygroscopic. 4. Tests in Norway and by US GSA suggest that powder is damaging for heritage objects - especially paintings, glass and china Best Stewart On 30 Apr 2012, at 20:34, Ed Vining wrote: > 1.
