I am working on a small group home which is allowed to be designed per NFPA 13D (2007) , per the state Code. On one end of the building has a 25 x 15 office. How should this office be treated? Since it is not part of the residential portion of the building, I thought per NFPA 13, at least in terms of density and sprinkler spacing, using commercial heads. However, 13D does not address occupancies outside the dwelling unit (at least that I could find). Thoughts?
