A couple of years ago, I did a small children's Planetarium (approx. 25
foot diameter). The Engineering firm that designed the system, called
out for single interlocked pre-action system with heads at the lower
lip, and a wet system at the ceiling...

We had long discussions about changing to a double interlock or
completely removing the PA system and just leaving the wet system at the
ceiling. There were NO sprinklers within the dome.

Hope this helps...

Subject: Planetarium dome

Has anyone sprinklered a contemporary planetarium projection dome?
The company designing the projection surface has expressed concern that
sprinklers will upset the imagery, especially close-ups of galaxies that
the system is capable of projecting. The architect is asking me for an
alternative and I haven't got a clue - as per usual.
