If you follow the gas piping rules you'd use coated black steel, threaded, with 10 mil (maybe more, I don't recall without a book to reference) wrapping around the fittings, then tarred (again I think). Or, special dispensation from your local Pope, and use Blazemaster while underground. Comes in 3" (I believe that's what you'd said you were planning to use, is not under any threat from fire underground, doesn't corrode, and flows better. The kicker is not being listed for the purpose though I'd bet only because it hasn't been tested for this application.
