for the same reason the inspector's test for a wet system does not have to
be located at the physically farthest from the flow switch- i.e., in a
closed hydraulic system, pressure (change) is transmitted instantaneously to
all parts of the system. with an expansion chamber, you happen to have a
little 'play' in the closed aspect, ~.13369 ft3

The entire system is filled with glycerine.

Only a very small part of the piping is exposed to temperature
extremes.

If anti freeze expands only when temperature extremes are encountered,
why size a tank for the whole system that sits in in conditioned or heated
air?
