oops-- It occurred to me maybe I should not have put that material in my
Dropbox, so I deleted it.

Here is the link to get it:

Tony, the above link is to FM Data Sheet 0311 Pressure Reducing Valves for
Fire Protection Service, revised last month. I don't think much changed but
I can't recall having ever read it, so it was interesting to me.

I'll likely catch some flack, but since we are supposed to calculate the
available Static and Residual ("Source Calc") at the valve inlet, I was
curious what the difference would be using H-W and D-W. For D-W I used 62.4
lb/ft^3, 1.01 Centipoises. I figured 4" S10 flowing 500 and 750, and 6" S10
flowing 500, 750, and 1000. Here are the pf/ft:

HW=.055, DW=.048. (4"-500).
HW=.115, DW=.108. (4"-750).
HW=.008, DW=.006. (6"-500).
HW=.016, DW=.014. (6"-750).
HW=.029, DW=.024. (6"-1000).

It takes quite a bit of length to make a pound of difference, but it all
adds up I guess. I don't know what software you use but it is very easy to
calc it both ways these days, then decide how you feel!!!
