Sprinkler plans must be stamped by an engineer licensed in the province where the work is being done. We use the National Building Code of Canada, which is a model code that each province adopts, though with modifications. For sprinkler design, the NBC refers to NFPA standards (13, 13R, 13D, 30, etc.) but it also introduces certain requirements that are different than those of NFPA.
