Sorry, baffle was wrong term to use. SD heads can't be installed floating out in space like that, they have to be so many inches away from a draft curtain or shear wall, kind of like sidewalls.
If you call tech support and/or watch the attic head webinar on the Tyco tech exchange website, it will cover this. They are somewhat defacto baffles as well since the maximum 5ft spacing of the AP from the edge of the slope means you are hard pressed to maintain the required 7ft clearance between them and the SDs. Stick with figure 20-B-3 and you can never go wrong with attic heads.
