So after multiple responses disliking my clean agent recommendation I got curious and did a little digging on this subject. While we use clean agents to protect UPS battery arrays, those are not lithium-*ion* batteries, making this a completely different application. My apologies. That said, below is a link to testing documents by NFPA's Fire Protection Research Foundation. http://www.prba.org/wp-content/uploads/Exponent_Report_for_NFPA_-_20111.pdf Reading through it I was shocked to see that while they have not made any conclusions as of yet, they have had success in military applications using water based systems as a cooling agent. In short, it seems there is no correct answer as of yet, but I hope this helps in some way. Good luck!
