While we use clean agents to protect UPS battery arrays, those are not lithium-ion batteries, making this a completely different application. My apologies. That said, below is a link to testing documents by NFPA's Fire Protection Research Foundation. http://www.prba.org/wp-content/uploads/Exponent_Report_for_NFPA_-_20111.pdf Reading through it I was shocked to see that while they have not made any conclusions as of yet, they have had success in military applications using water based systems as a cooling agent.
