Some states require such signage or a symbol not to specifically designate the type of construction classification but of the construction features itself. This typically consists of truss placards which identify truss flooring or roofs mounted on the outside of the building for firefighter safety. NJ had started this decades ago especially after the Hackensack Ford dealership fire and collapse.
