Noted as subtext was use of direct read meter in lieu of standard pitot and calc’s.
https://www.mccrometer.com/asset-get.download.jsa?id=52003821668 We’ve used this. Standard gauge placed on adjacent hydrant. We were not using one meter of a 2” main drain. We were using up to four (4) on two different hydrants. We attempted to approach or exceed design flow. We wanted to be as far away from normal background flow as possible. A primary goal vs pitot was not washing out existing business plantings. I’ve had a few sprinkler firms with a cavalier attitude about this damage. Unlike sprinkler companies fire marshal’s offices are subject to concerns, expressed through Mayor’s office, of existing community. Best.
