Ye-es... Well, the default for payment account was (perhaps by chance) the
bank account, which was right 50% of the time, so well and good. Or so I
thought at first. Then I found that reconciling the bank account was messy
because I kept slipping up and letting cash payments or credit card payments
get listed to the bank account. Only way to weed them out was to compare
every item on the bank statement and every item on the bank account. So I
save time now that I have to select bank account - even though 50% of them
were right by default before. My work-around both gives a very obvious
warning in the input form, and catches all the errors in one place.
