Okay, I think what you are saying is sound.  So I am transfering my vote to 
user-selected default accounts for all dropdown field types.  There are only 
a few types in fact, so we are only talking about a few extra configuration 
items in the user profile.  And this would still allow the use of catch-error 
transfer accounts (as I currently do) if some users prefer that to using the 
most common account as the default.  As I said before, I prefer the catch-all 
method because I lose less time by having to select every time - even for the 
common accounts - than I do looking for the ones I forgot to allocate to the 
correct account.

I guess it is really a pretty trivial piece of coding too, as the same 
function will serve for all drop-downs - I was getting over-protective of our 
noble authors.
