You'd only be able to push a comment into Python's log, but not into 
Postgres/Mysql/Oracle/etc.

placing a comment into the sql allows one to grep the database logs, or use 
the database profiling.

this would also provide existing python debug tools that use the sql logger 
( like the pyramid & flash toolbars ) to display information about the 
queries alongside them, without any other effort.
