I'm running LMS V7.9.0, with four SB3, three via wi-fi and one via
cabled Ethernet through an IP switch to the cabled PC. For many months
this setup has worked fine, until some changes yesterday...

In order to connect to Australia's new NBN (National Broadband Network),
yesterday I had to install a new modem/router. It took several tech
support calls and lots of re-configuring to get the Internet connection
to work, but eventually we succeeded. But now none of my SB3 can
connect to LMS!

My hook-up is a little complicated, but let's just concentrate on the
one SB3 that connects via cable, as once we get that one to connect I'm
sure that will fix the others too (the cabled one is also my 'primary'
SB3, and the most important one to fix first! :-)

I've attached a sketch of my hook-up so you can see how everything's
connected. The NBN modem is also a wireless router, but I've disabled
all its wireless functions for reasons I won't bore you with. The
TP-Link wireless router provides all wi-fi functions, and it's setup
hasn't changed from before. (There's other stuff connected to the
switch, but I don't think they're relevant to my problem.)

In trying to configure the NBN modem yesterday, I initially couldn't
even connect to the modem through Firefox using 192.168.1.1. Eventually
I realised that was because my old ADSL modem was 192.168.0.1, and I use
fixed IP addresses on all my equipment, so my PC was set to
192.168.0.100. So after changing my PC to DHCP I was able to access the
modem set-up, and changed it's IP to 192.168.0.1. Then I changed my PC
back to fixed IP, and everything was able to connect to the network and
NBN modem.

I can ping all my SB3 from my PC (and from my mobile phone via wi-fi),
and they all connect to the home network. But when they go to connect
to 'the server', they fail with a 'Can't connect...' message. And of
course LMS reports 'Your player was not found...'. Since my IP
addresses are now all exactly the same as they were before, I really
can't figure out what's stopping the SB3 from talking to LMS, and vice
versa.

I have, of course, rebooted the PC, the NBN modem, the switch and the
SB3. I even did a factory reset on that primary SB3 and re-configured
it again, but still no joy. I've tried temporarily disconnecting the
link between the switch and the NBN modem, so there was just the
PC-switch-SB3 connected, but still can't connect to LMS. I also tried
deleting C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\cache.db, which cured a
different LMS problem some time ago, but that didn't solve this
problem.

Does anyone have any other suggestions on how I might restore my
precious music network?

Thanks,
Daniel
