In Network and Sharing Center on the Win 7 PC, what type of network is the connection: Public, Home or Work? If it's Public (getting at the point that epoch1970 alluded to) the Windows firewall essentially blocks everything. This often happens when the computer detects it's on a new network. There are a number of ways of changing that identity if it is set to Public.
