It is only partly solved. I have multiple SD-cards with various
settings. I had an older one with LMS 7.8.0. this one always worked with
3rd party plugins but at one day it stopped. I didn't know why. On that
card I found out that the DNS settings were not correct. So for that
image problem is solved at the moment, but it only works with LMS
7.8.0.

I solved this by entering the google name servers 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 in
the etc/network/interfaces file. Perhaps there are better ways to solve
it, but at least this one worked. When you google raspberry pi DNS
server, you will find a lot of information.

However, with other images I still have the problem. For example if I
want to install LMS 7.9.0 on the image mentioned above, the 3rd party
plugins are not included in the plugins anymore. The same problem I have
with fresh images, whether I use Debbian Jessie Lite, the full NOOBS
version or the Max2play version.

I have not enough knowledge of linux to find the problem very easy. I
can only do it by "trial and error"

When I use the same raspberry pi at my mother house, I didn't have the
problem. I changed the network router at my home (I have 2), but that
didn't solve it.
Then I thought it is maybe a firewall setting at my internet provider,
but than since this week, I have one "fresh" image that worked with my
network.;). It seems to be a lucky shot. The one that works is on a
Pi-zero.

As I have one good image, it is not very urgent. But I would like to run
LMS 7.9.0 with the latest 3rd party plugins.
