I recently discovered that my playlists on my Squeezebox units will not update from changes made in iTunes. A while ago I discovered that I cannot save a Smart Playlist as a Favorite. Doing a clear library and rescan does not help.
There have been changes in iTunes since LMS 7.7.5. I applied some improvements in 7.7.6 (and 7.9), but am not sure whether they would fix your issue. You should definitely update to one of these builds and let us about your findings.
