Well, it hasn't fixed it but now LMS flatly refuses to log player.source
in the server log file so I am a bit stuck - I was hoping to disconnect
everything else from the switch so it would just be my PC, the QNAP and
the player on the network.

To answer your questions...

The QNAP is a TS-251
No, no DLNA devices on the network.
DNS is in the ISPs router
The QNAP has a static IP
The players have dynamic IPs assigned by the DD-WRT firewall.

What is the trick to get LMS to log things? I did it yesterday but today
I set player.source to info, click apply but nothing happens... :(
