Rasbian is the official Pi OS (Current version, Stretch), and there are
others on their website (https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/)
BUT, DON'T burn any of those to your microSD for your LMS (I only
mention it here if you decide to use a Pi for other projects)

For what you're doing now, you only need to burn the pCP image to the
microSD.
The pCP help doc's are quite good:
https://www.picoreplayer.org/main_getting_started.shtml
(Read through the tabs on that page: Getting Started, How To, etc, I
found the How To tab had what I needed:
https://www.picoreplayer.org/main_howto.shtml)

Do you have what you need to burn pCP to the microSD?
https://www.picoreplayer.org/how_to_burn_pcp_onto_a_sd_card.shtml
(I needed to get one of these to use with my Mac to burn pCP:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009D79VH4/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

It will be easier once you have the Pi in hand.
