I use USB flash memory sticks for my music library on my servers running LMS (allows me to spin down the main media HDD and have it stay asleep with less scope for random processes to wake it up). No issues and I don't see why there should be - it's not like the media library is getting much in the way of writes, it's there to essentially act as a WORM drive.
