Oh yes there would! I use the digital (Toslink) output from all but one of my SB3 units, with volume fixed at 100% (otherwise I couldn't play DTS tracks!), and with between-track auto-fade disabled. So I would hear a 1-sec blast of applause at 100% volume if the sleep didn't stop till one-sec after the track end.
