What does your local network look like? I assume you have a wireless router. What kind is it?
Does it have any settings that are likely to be preventing you from accessing the net? I know you're thinking 'but this worked fine with the old firmware; can't you just fix it?' but this is the first time I've heard of this kind of problem. We did make a number of changes to how the wireless communications of the Squeezebox works; mostly to make sure that they negotiate correctly with wireless APs and routers and successfully connect.
