Thanks for the responses. My issues is that I want to always be able to connect and control my squeezeboxes from the slimserver weither I am streaming content of the squeezenetwork or my ripped colllection of cd's and this is possible if you don't connect to the squeezenetwork manually with the remote. All of the functionality of the squeezenetwork (I usually listen to the jazz "slim device pics") can be controlled from the slimserver web interface. When I was saying connecting to a stream I meant a stream that I would play to the squeezeboxes from the squeezenetwork. If you choose the stream that you want to listen to from the slimserver it will send the stream through the server and then to your devices, which allows you to still have full control of your squeezboxes from the slimserver interface and be able to play all of your ripped content and any squeezenetwork content all from the slimserver web interface.
I guess the squeezeboxes are just designed so that they can't be connected to the slimserver if you manually connect to the squeezenetwork from the squeezeboxes themselves. I am just wondering if there is anyway to dissable that behavior so that I would be able to control my devices even if they are connected the squeezenetwork manually. I am assuming this isn't currently possible or someone would have posted a solution to all of my ranting.
