Ahh...well this is what I have so far. I have SqueezeServer on my Netgear ReadyNAS, my Mac Mini and my Windows PC. The software player 'plays' the music from the various apps (sirius, napster, etc) just fine when the 'music source' is the server on the Windows PC or Mac. The errors where I see "Problem: Unable to play filetype" is when the player is connected to the squeezeserver on the ReadyNAS.
Servers are version 7.4.1/r28947 on the ReadyNAS 1100, Windows xp pro PC and version 7.4.2-r29655 on the Mac Mini OS-X 7.4 Tiger on Mac Mini) SqueezePlay software on Windows PC is 7.4r0, on MacBook Pro and Mac Mini is 7.4.1-r7907M. Duet Player is 7.4.1 and has no issues.. That info is good to know with regard Pandora and goes a ways to explain plenty. I have one of the limited free accounts and have not paid for a full account. So the hardware player (duet) plays fine but the software player cannot bridge that gap by some design or other. Slacker so far as I can gauge streams MP3, it also plays DI.FM, Live365, Last.fm, RadioTime, SKY.fm, the 'Problem' messages I have been getting from Napster seems to indicate that it streams WMA filetype, Sirius (paid subscriber) gives the same message but I cant see the end of the message to verify the filetype to state that it's WMA. I dont know if that makes a difference or means something. Well no doubt getting the NAS is because I hope to be able to lose the dependancy of any computer needing to be on in order to se this. I'm wondering if I should try the embedded version of the squeezeserver for readynas and perhaps going up a version (I hear 7.4.2 and 7.5 are avail) but I suspect trying to 'version' my way out of this issue wont work. I get the impression that 7.4.1 is the most stable and standard version at present. I wonder if this particular issue I'm having rings a bell with anyone? -- Moozh ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Moozh's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34642 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=62268 _______________________________________________ squeezenetwork mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezenetwork
