Software players (i.e. Softsqueeze, Squeezeplay, Squeezeslave) only have native support for MP3 and Flac. For all other formats such as WMA and AAC - the SBSserver has to transcode the stream into either MP3 or Flac.
Most of the ReadyNAS range cannot do transcoding - so this is your problem.
