I had the same thought about just attempting to login to each server until the right one is found. I might have a go at that myself.
Neither of those plugins is *exactly* what I'd like to see. All users are in the same domain, so I don't think vlogin would work. Multilogin would definately work, IF our users could be taught which server their account lives on. I'd prefer to avoid that step if possible.
