Config: SM143a, Mercury32, PHP437, Abyss WebServer, WinXP HE

I have EXACTLY the same problem as shown bellow, but there was no threads
with help

Ps.: You can sucessfully login, when you try just after the message. Every
user must try twice to login.

"First of all, I"m new to this list and hope to get some useful
information on Squirrelmail. I"ve got a problem with Squirrelmail and
I"ve searched the archives very thoroughly, but couldn"t find an answer
 to my problem.

 My configuration is:

  Windows 2000 Pro SP3 server
  Apache 1.3.27 http-server
  PHP 4.3.2
  Mercury32 mailserver
  Squirrelmail 1.4.1 CVS

When installing I put the IMAP-mail dir in the mercury32/mail subfolder.
The SM-dir is located in the www part of my server (which is not
 "htdocs" in Apache-dir!!)

I"ve changed the values (IMAPserver etc.) in the config.php file of SM
(using my IP as servername), and created an account in mercury32. This
account works fine (I can use it with Outlook (POP3/IMAP)) and when I
access it through telnet it gives a correct return.

However, when I try to login in SM it returns me with a page telling me:
"you need a valid username and password for this page!"

Looking at the mercury32 window I can see that SM tries to login (but
 closes the connection immediately).

What is wrong?? Did I miss some settings??

I really hope someone can help me (or is willing to try), because I
really would like to use SM as mailclient.

 Thnx in advance!!!

 Joris Hoogstede"
