You can ignore the value in the conf.pl app, as it is just the version of the config system. Did you try subscribing to your INBOX? This tells me that my IMAP > server is running quite alright. That is most unusual. Does it show an error, or does it give the "There are no messages in this folder" message? Have you checked your apache log files?
