Given the actual example appears to talk about someone with last name Beatles, 
first name The, the point made in the prose is inaccurate for the example 
anyway.

I think the prose is fine as it is. The claim is qualified by a ‘usually’. 
Perhaps ‘often’ would be a more appropriate qualifier – I’d accept that.
