I read the Unix manual page and as much on-line help as I could think to
scan through for C-Kermit 6.0.192, which seems to be the most modern
version for Unix (at least the most modern one not in beta, and is the
one currently downloaded and built by NetBSD-current's pkgsrc tools).

Oh, well.  You might want to talk to a good lawyer about that, because I
don't think your law is as tight as you seem to be suggesting.
