In this case you just need to have SSH setup on whatever machine you
connect to. But, as you indicated, all files moved will be moved in
realation relation to the machine you login to.

The CDE, gnome or KDE stuff I don't understand either. I use the KDE at
home and gnome at work and have never had to do anything specific to
either window manager.

The info below is interesting, never even thought about doing something
like that.
