Step 1:

Get SSH working.


Step 2:

Edit your /etc/inetd.conf file and comment out any services you don't want
to offer, such as telnet. When done, send a HUP to your inetd.


Step 3:

To check your work, use "netstat -a" and see on what ports your OS is
listening. You should see SSH/22 but not any services you disabled.
Instead of netstat, you can also use strobe, nmap, or simple telnet to
check.
