I guess it is about time I introduced myself to the list. My name is Chuck
Walters. I live in upstate New York. I have been married to the most
wonderful woman in the world for 17 years, my wife Annette. We have two
children, both boys and both handfuls, Matthew (age 11) and Andrew (age 8).

I started in large scale railroading in 1989 with an LGB starter set I
bought for my new born. He drooled and messed his diapers, I played with
the train. I had been in other scales for more than 20 years (N, HO and O),
but the big stuff was slicker than Teflon in 95 degree sunshine. So....lots
of rolling stock and engines later, here I am.

The live steam itch hit some three years ago, but electric 'goodies' kept
calling me, saying, "buy me, buy me, I'll make you happy". Then I went to a
friends open house and watched him intently as he "fiddled" with his
Colorado. Like a ton of bricks, it hit me, I had to make the transition.
My first engine was a Round House Fowler followed quickly by an Accucraft
Ruby (for kitbashing) Tonight, I placed an order for an Aster Mikado. I
can't wait. I have always loved building models, now I get to build the
engine I will run. It doesn't get any better than this!

In my professional life, I am a school district Administrator dealing with
business and technology. I am the President of the Central New York
Large-Scale Railway Society near Syracuse New York. And I have enjoyed
conversing and sharing with all of you wonderful people on this list!
