My track is aluminum and so is my portable, both code 250. I have no problem with it as I can't justify spending more. When I got divorced, I ripped up what was left of my track (vicious divorce, let me tell ya) and used it to make my present track. It is not in the best of shape, a few kinks here and there but it has held up. Traction is fine, I run in the middle of winter with snow on the ground; no problem. Too many people want to run more cars than the engines would normally pull. If you like to pull lot of cars up grades double head. I was doing that yesterday and had a ball; a real challenge. Bob
