It seems some XHTML-IM clients seem to URL-ize links that are not already URL-ized. This goes for discussion forums .... phpBB always URL-ize links that are not in [url] [/url] .... There is a lot of precedent here on automated URL-ization on URL's that the originator did not bother to URL-ize. User complaints about non-clickable clicks will force XMPP authors to URL-ize links not in <a> Yes, ugly solution, but customer is often king. :-/
