I’m thinking that the extension has nothing specific to markdown. It could 
equally be ‘text/x-yaml’ or ‘text/plain’ or ‘text/x-my-cool-markdown’, and I’m 
thinking it should only be considered a hint and handled on a best-effort basis 
anyway.
