That's correct, it is almost identical, just as their version is
almost (exactly?) identical to the ed25519 reference implementation.
None of the XEdDSA stuff was was invented by OWS, it's just montgomery
/ edwards key conversion, they just put it in a spec and told people
how ot use it for their signing scheme.
