If i read you correctly, you are running os 9.1, is that correct ?
Also you can boot from os 7.6 cd only, right/wrong ?

Again, you are running os 9.1, how did you get there if you don't
have any os cds in between 7.6 and including 9.1 ?

Now, did you get to 9.1 without any HD driver updates ?
