Hi, all.
I've booted my StarMax 3240 MT (MaxPowr G3/300) from many system CDs, from
original disk through OS 8, 8.5, and even an OS 9 G4 Restore disk, using the
original TEAC SCSI CD-ROM, and an ATAPI Yamaha CD-RW. It won't boot older
than OS 7.6: you get a message saying to update.
You probably have dust on the CD-ROM pickup lens. They face up, and they
collect fuzzy-wuzzys.
If I have anything but an older ATA drive plugged in to the ATA 0 bus
nothing boots very well at all. It's a struggle to get anything to boot
then.
