What worked for me, if I remember correctly, was to leave the original drive set
to master which is what it was at
and the new drive gets set to the last setting which has different names. There
is master, slave, CS or cable select,
and then neutral or just blank or some other name. That's the one to use (not
slave) and is the only setting that works.
You will need a cable and I also suggest getting a new cable to replace the
other original's.
Then use Drive Setup to format/initialize the new drive (if necessary) once you
get it hooked up and recognized.
